Stanley Washburn, a special war correspondent of the «Times» in the Russian Armies describes his trip to the front. The book is illustrated with photographs of George H. Mewes, of the «Daily Minor» (London), which was the only English photographer formally seconded to the Russian army and who accompanied the author throughout the trip.
